Samuel Oyer, M.D.

Samuel Oyer, M.D.

Samuel L. Oyer, M.D., is currently an assistant professor of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Oyer completed his residency training in otolaryngology (ENT) at MUSC before pursuing fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital with four mentors who are among the nation's leaders in this specialty. This training focused exclusively on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck. He has a particular interest in facial reanimation of patients suffering from facial paralysis and has performed clinical research in this area exploring outcomes of nerve grafting and smile restoration surgery. Dr. Oyer is a board-certified otolaryngologist and received the Jack Anderson Award for the highest score in the nation on the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery examination.
