Pancreatic Head Resection for Localized Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most deadly of cancers, but surgical resection of the pancreatic head in patients with localized disease who also complete chemotherapy can improve survival and quality of life. MUSC Health gastrointestinal surgeon Katherine A. Morgan, M.D., discusses the Whipple procedure as a surgical treatment for localized pancreatic cancer.
